onsetter is a PreToolUse hook for Claude Code. Before a Write or Edit lands, it reads every CLAUDE.md above the file being touched, matches its ask blocks against the path and the incoming text, and prepends whatever matches into the model's own context, in the same turn, before the call resolves. The model reads it and answers it itself — right there, inline, with no round trip and nothing external holding a verdict it doesn't have the context to make. Not a hook that blocks after the fact, not a linter running a fixed rule from outside — see Why a question and not a check for the asymmetry that makes this work.
